Enrolling at Otamatea High School

Otamatea High School has an enrolment scheme that determines who can enrol at the school. Students may apply for entry under two categories.

- In Home Zone
- Out of Home Zone

In Home Zone - Automatic Entry
Students may enrol and attend the school as of right, provided they:

  • have entitlement to a state education
  • live in the home zone with a parent or guardian
  • qualify for the grandparenting provision (have a sibling who was enrolled as at 1 October 2022)
  • have not been excluded or expelled from another school

Out of Home Zone - Entry Process
2025 - No places available - applications will go on our waiting list

The enrolment of students who live outside of the home zone and do not qualify for the grandparenting provision can apply under the Out-of-Home Zone process.
Siblings of enrolled students as at 1 October 2022 are protected under the grandparenting provision. See link for more details.
