Paihia Tourism Trip

On Wednesday the 11th of May the Level 2 and Level 3 Tourism class traveled to Paihia to participate in an adventure tourism activity and visit the Queenstown Resort College (yes, they have a campus in Paihia as well as Queenstown). First the students went parasailing with Flying Kiwi Parasail; the weather was amazing and everyone enjoyed this activity very much. Ladene was due to do this as well, but chickened out at the last minute. We then went to the Queenstown Resort College and had a tour of their campus and student accommodation, culminating in a lovely buffet lunch. The students were very impressed with the QRC and at least three have enrolled for next year. We would like to thank the QRC for hosting us and Ladene for assisting on the trip.

Rotorua Tourism Trip

On Sunday 3rd of July five students and Mr Troost travelled down to Rotorua to experience the Tourism Industry for two nights. Staying at Rock Solid backpackers we visited Te Wairoa Buried Village, Whakarewarewa Thermal Village, Polynesian Spa Hot Pools, Redwoods Treetop Adventure, the Agrodome and Skyline Gondola and Luge. While it was the smallest group to ever attend the Rotorua Tourism Trip over the 18 or so years it has been running, it did allow us to include a few extras such as going to Gengys Restaurant. Everyone had a great time, the weather was great, accommodation very comfortable, and the activities fun and informative.
