Careers Roadshow

By Elizabeth van den Berg

At 9am on Tuesday 16 March 34 providers were all set up and ready to talk to our students about the courses they offer.

These are for students leaving school as well as a number of Gateway courses that can set a student on a pathway towards a career while still at school. This year, five universities attended as well as two technikons who offer both degree and diploma courses. And then there were trades training, the forces and police, customs and various private training organisations.

There was something for every student to consider, from chiropractic to beauty and computer design along with all building, automotive and caring careers as well as everything universities offer.

All the year 11 to 13 students had time to talk and put their names down to be kept informed about what is on offer in the areas they are interested in. The year 9 and 7 students also attended to get an idea of how wide options are.

The providers were impressed with the good questions our students asked and enjoyed engaging with the students.
