Thursday 18th February saw the 56th Otamatea High School Swim Sports take place. The day was hot, with everyone wanting to cool off in the pool.

Our stand out results came from Noah Martin, who broke 3 records and Grace Kemp who broke 1 record.

Noah broke the following records:

25m breaststroke held by J Williamson (2010) of 20.62 with a new time of 19.74

25m freestyle held by D McInnes (1994) of 14.90 with a new time of 13.84

25m backstroke held by T Ratima (2009) of 18.87 with a new time of 17.00

Grace broke the 25m freestyle held by O Shadbolt (2018) of 13.89 with a new time of 13.63.

A huge thank you to all the parents who helped time keep on the day. Thank you to Nikola Kemp for being our stroke inspector/turn judge for the day. Thank you to all the staff and students who helped throughout the day in the many jobs to keep the day running smoothly. Lastly thank you to all the swimmers who stepped up and swam their hearts out to make this an enjoyable competition.
