Turbo Touch Festival Year 7 and 8’s
The students had a fantastic time as they were given a chance to have a go in the wheelechairs as well as normal Turbo Touch. It was a first time for all in the wheelchairs so took a bit of co-ordination on using them. There was lots of laughing.

Turbo Touch Year 9 and 10’s  The students had a great day finishing up 5th in their division.

Orienteering Year 7 – 10’s  With 34 students, this was the largest group we have taken to participate at Springbank. The students were buzzing with enthusiam and excitement with a little bit of uncertainity as to what was involved. The students did really well and represented the school with pride. The weather, unfortunately, was not on our side but overall an excellent day.

Turbo Touch Seniors  An excellent day with our senior students winning their mixed division. Super proud of them all.

Table Tennis Championship 9 – 13  Leo Cannon, Rikki Beazley and Morgan Bull travelled to this event. The boys came away with some wins and losses in their pool play but unfortunately not enough to make championship top 16 draw.

3x3 Basketball Year 9 and 10’s cup  We took 3 teams, 2 girls and 1 boys team. The boys played so well and placed 6th. With the girls teams placing 3rd and 4th. With some hard fought games overall it was a great day.

Bream Bay Exchange Year 7 and 8’s  This was held in Bream Bay this year with us taking a bus and both school vans. We took teams for Basketball, 2x Netball, Hockey, 2x Rippa and a Football team. The students represented our school with pride and mana and had a fantastic time.

3x3 Basketball Seniors Championship  This was a great day with us taking 2 teams. They both played amazing games.

Table Tennis Year 7 and 8’s  This was fun learning experience for those students who had never played before. It was full of fun learning and games played. Our students had a fantastic time.

Otamatea also took out Top School Team. What a fantastic effort from all our students. Congratulations to all our students.

NRU Girls Rugby Festival  This was held in Kerikeri and we took up 8 keen girls. The day consisted of skill sessions, ball handling and team building. We had Matt Moulds along with an ex Black Fern and a number of other coaches and trainers helping us. The girls were split into their age groups mixing with the other schools and had a game against each other. Our girls were buzzing with enthusiasm and enjoyed everything taught to them. It was a fantastic day.

Clay Target Shooting Kaitaia  The boys continued from the last competition day with another win for the team. This puts the team 10 points ahead for the season competition. A superb effort for Aaron Harrison, Aaron Westlake, Connor Alcock, Kellan Antunovich and Matai Hartles. With a strong contingency from Otamatea – well done to Max and Jamie Cotching who competed as part of a composite team on the day too. Congratulations also go to our students for the individual results.

Single Rise – 1st Aaron Harrison, 2nd Connor Alcock   Single Barrel – 2nd Aaron Harrison   A huge thanks to Richard Westlake, Phil Cotching, Sam Hartles, Grant Harrison and Eli Antunovich for coaching/managing and transporting the team.

Football Boys and Girls Division 1  A huge congratulations to our boys and girls football teams who competed this term in the Northland football mid week competitions. Both of our teams did extremely well coming away with 2nd place. Both finals games were hotly contested – Boys vs Huanui College 3-2 loss. Girls vs Kerikeri High 3-1 loss. A huge thanks must go to Samid Buksh (boys) and Chris Byars (girls) for their commitment in coaching and refereeing these teams.

Hockey Collegiate Term 2 Monday night competition  Congratulations to our mixed team who came away in third place for this term's competition. The team has another 8 games to be played in term 3. A huge thanks to Bruce Alison for coaching the team.

Boys South Zone Basketball Friday night weekly competition  Congratulations to our boys team who went into the play offs with 3 teams all sitting on the same win/losses. On a count back the boys played their semi final vs Tauraroa. After a very close game, Tauraroa took the win. The boys then won the 3rd/4th play off vs Bream Bay by default. The team is growing in skills every week. A huge thanks must go to Don Lawson for coaching the team and Jess Baker for managing the team.

Girls South Zone Basketball Competition  A huge thanks must go to Blake Worsfold for coaching the girls team during term 1 and 2. Unfortunately, with only Ruawai and Otamatea having girls teams in this competition they have not had as many games as the boys. The girls won their first match against Ruawai and are lined up for a re match at the beginning of term 2.
