When then travelled to Parihaka Mountain Bike Park where they completed a bike challenge. We had some very tired kids before we headed of to do the last activity. When then headed over to Barge Park for the last event, Orienteering. The students had a fantastic time and represented the school with pride.

NORTHLAND CHAMPIONS  Senior Girls Netball Championship and Cup Tournament

Tuesday 15th August we travelled to Whangarei with our two top teams. There were some great hard-fought games from both Teams. Team 1 managed to take out the Championship beating Taipa Area School 28 – 6.

Team 2 had some close fought games coming away with 4th place in the Cup division. An excellent day had by all. Big thanks to our 2 Refs Leayah and Pyper Buxton.

Bay Of Islands Beast
On Friday the 25th August, we took 88 students up to the BOI Beast.

It was an absolute stunner of a day. The kids were buzzing with excitement. The run was very steep in areas and muddy, the last part was in a creek where they had to run through. There were some very tired and sore kids near the end, but happy at the same time on completing the 5km course. Denika Clooney was amazing finishing in first place overall with time of 28mins 43 sec.. After a good hosing from the fire trucks, all the kids received a medal, drink, and a nice warm sausage sizzle. There were a lot of sleepy students on the way home which made for a very quiet trip home. The students were amazing and represented Otamatea with pride.

Junior Netball Cup
On Tuesday 22nd August we travelled to Whangarei Netball Centre.  We took three Year 7 and 8 Teams and four Year 9 and 10 Teams.
