Tourism trip 2021

By Ladene Hunter

Once again, I was lucky enough to head off on the Tourism Trip to Rotorua with a bunch of awesome senior students!

The weather was on our side as we headed off in two vans, with the students in safe hands of chauffeurs Ladene and Mr Troost. We had a great drive down to our accommodation at YHA Rotorua. The students were able to do a bit of retail shopping and dine out in the evening.

Our destinations included a luxury unwind at the Polynesian Spa, Whakarewarewa Living Maori Village. The Luge, as always is a highlight of the trip, as adrenalin is high and even if you weren’t planning on racing like lightening down the track and knocking all subjects in your way... out of your way...you most certainly do! The screams, laughing and yelling echo down the tracks!

The Redwoods Tree Walk was done at nightime. It was fantastic with the beautiful lights displayed, which I highly recommend. Our last tourist event was the Zorb! Students and Mr Troost participated in rolling down the hill inside a Zorb. Some had three students inside getting tossed around as if they were in a washing machine. I kindly nominated myself to be photographer. A great time was had!

I would like to thank the students for being AWESOME and Mr Troost for once again, organising a successful trip!
