Year 9 Activities Week 2021, saw the students at Otamatea High School go to Adrenalin Adventure Park and Heads Up Adventures respectively.

Adrenalin Adventure waterpark and inflatable obstacle course, lived up to its reputation as a fun place which saw the students' balance and competitive nature come to the fore. Highlights included the students climbing the Inflatable Rock Wall, racing each other on Stand Up Paddle-boards and kayaks and Matua Wiremu doing a backflip into a ‘manu.’

The second day was at Heads Up Adventures. The students had a blast on the non-motorised, off-road scooters on a range of tracks that suited them all regardless of ability, The day started off great…then it started to rain, which elevated it to where we saw the perfect ratio of dirt and water combine. This culminated in the students being covered in mud after their rides - fortunately most heeded the advice to bring a change of clothes just in case.

The final day for activities was held at school on Wednesday. All students were physically challenged with an hour of multi-sports and as a reward got to cool off in the pool. They were happy to finish off the week with a burger pattie sizzle, chip butty sandwiches and juicees.

Our students can also be proud of themselves as the facilities we visited all complimented them on their respect and manners toward staff and each other.
