Clay Target Shooting 2021

By Tina Holst

The Clay Target shooting this year has been a total blast. It was a totally new experience for everyone. We had five people in our team. Three of those had five had all shot guns beofre and weren't totally new. Aaron and myself were completely new to the sport. We picked the sport up quickly and were not that bad. It was a Northland Secondary school competition which took place over 5 days of shooting. We started at Whangarei and then went to Kaitaia, Kaikohe and Dargaville. The last shoot was a Whangarei with a big prizegiving. Each gun club was prepared and set up great. At the end of the whole shooting everybody had improved a lot. Overall the most funwas our trip up to Kaitaia and hanging out with cool people.

Congratulations also go to Kellan Antunovich who gained the following awards:
Dargaville Shoot - 2nd in junior single barrel.
Last Whangarei shoot - 2nd in junior single barrel and winner of the junior High Gun. Kellan also was selected for the Northland Squad of 5 to compete at the National tournament.
